Work-Based Learning and Advisory Board Training
This professional development session is divided into two focused learning opportunities designed to strengthen CTE programs.
Morning Session: Work-Based Learning
Teachers will learn about WBL requirements and gain practical guidance on how to develop and implement training plans for students participating in internship opportunities. Participants will also spend time learning how to input and manage information within a WBL data system used to monitor and track student internship progress.
Afternoon Session: Building Effective Advisory Boards
Strong industry partnerships are essential to building successful CTE programs. Participants will be introduced to regional industry partners and learn strategies for developing meaningful business and industry connections. The workshop will also cover advisory board infrastructure, including how to establish advisory boards, create effective agendas, set program goals, and foster strong advisory boards that support long-term CTE program success.
