Summer Blast: Understanding Dysgraphia & Written Expression
This full-day session builds a deep understanding of dysgraphia by examining how written expression develops across orthographic, graphomotor, and language/executive-function systems. Participants will learn to distinguish dysgraphia from other written-expression difficulties by identifying the specific root causes—orthographic processing, fine-motor/graphomotor skills, language formulation, and attention or working-memory constraints. Through case studies, writing-sample analysis, and hands-on activities, evaluators will develop a practical framework for accurate identification and for designing targeted, instructionally meaningful recommendations.
