Assistive Technology & AI Readiness: The DNA of AI
For too long, the conversation around AI in education has been stuck on "Is it cheating?" or "How can it save me time?" But for students with complex access needs, AI may be a systemic layer of assistive technology that scaffolds student thinking. This session provides a visionary framework for turning language technology into a cognitive superpower at the intersection of student self-awareness and clear communication.
In this hands-on session, we are moving past the "shortcut" mindset to explore the "Golden Thread" of future-ready skills. You’ll discover how to transition students from passive users to empowered self-advocates who can identify their own barriers and command technology to overcome them. We’re dismantling the "Ready Means Never" trap and replacing it with a strategic framework for cognitive scaffolding.
