Mental Health Essentials for Educators: Understanding Youth & Sustaining Self
This interactive, evidence-based workshop fulfills the requirements of House Bill 3 (TEC § 22.904) and 19 TAC § 153.1015, ensuring staff is equipped to recognize and support students facing mental health or substance use challenges.
Beyond theory attendees will get practical tools for:
Early Detection: Identifying warning signs of mental health issues and substance use.
Crisis Response: Respectful listening and effective intervention strategies.
Classroom Support: Trauma-informed techniques to improve student safety and success.
Staff Wellness: Building a supportive, resilient school culture.
The "Once-and-Done" Advantage: This training meets the TEA/HHSC "Required Mental Health Awareness Training" standards. Once completed, employees satisfy the statutory requirement for the duration of their career—no retraining required by law.
