Earth and Space Sciences for High School: Systems, Cycles, and Cosmology
The Earth and Space Workshop will provide educators with opportunities to explore Earth’s structure, energy systems, weather and climate, the solar system, and the broader cosmos. This experience will help their students gain a deeper appreciation of Earth’s place in space and the processes that sustain life on our planet.
Through TEKS-aligned inquiry-based investigations, participants will master laboratory techniques and simulations designed to make planetary-scale processes accessible in the classroom. This session is engineered to help educators cultivate a sophisticated understanding of Earth’s position within the galactic context, emphasizing the delicate equilibrium of the physical processes that sustain life.
