Physics for Middle School: Mastering Force, Motion, and Energy ~ Grades 6th-8th
This workshop provides a comprehensive scaffold guiding students from basic force identification in 6th grade to complex systems analysis in 8th grade. Participants will progress from calculating net forces and understanding energy conservation to mastering the mathematical relationships of Newton’s Second Law (F = ma) and the mechanics of wave behavior. By integrating 7th-grade concepts of velocity and thermal energy transfer, the session ensures a fluid transition between recognizing how objects move and analyzing the simultaneous forces—such as those in rocket launches or tectonic activities—that drive our physical world.
Our main focus will be on the Middle School Science Assessment Eligible TEKS: Force, Motion, and Energy Strand 6.7AB, 6.8BC, 7.7ABC, 7.8AC, 8.7AB, 8.8A
