Prints Charming: Bringing Learning to Life
Hands-On 3D Printing for Accessible Meaningful Instruction
3D printing offers powerful opportunities to transform abstract concepts into meaningful, hands-on learning experiences—especially for students who rely on tactile access. This interactive workshop explores how 3D printing can be used intentionally to support instruction for students with visual impairments and additional disabilities.
Participants will learn how to design and use student-safe 3D printed models that support concept development, engagement, and independence across academic and functional areas. The session emphasizes accessibility, safety, and instructional purpose while highlighting practical classroom applications aligned to Texas VI, O&M, and Expanded Core Curriculum standards.
Educators will leave with concrete ideas, safety guidelines, and reflection tools to confidently bring 3D printing into their instructional practice—turning learning into something students can truly touch and understand.
