VIRTUAL Youth Mental Health First Aid
This national training, which meets several state requirements, focuses on the most common mental health challenges students experience, including depression, anxiety, self-harm, and suicide. The session is interactive and encourages empathy, discussion, and active participation. Because of the sensitive nature of the topics, individuals who have recently experienced trauma or suicide may wish to consider completing the training at a later time. To receive credit, national guidelines require participants to attend the entire session, pass a test, and complete an evaluation. In addition, participants must complete approximately **two hours of self-paced pre-work before the class**. Registration through PITStop will close three days before the training date to allow time for participants to complete the required national registration steps. Detailed instructions for completing these requirements will be emailed about one week prior to the class date.
