Quest: Unpacking Neurodiversity and Autism in Public Education
Gotta Hand it to ‘Em: Puppets as Partners in Early Childhood Education
Join Michael Tucker (Region 11), Amber Davies (Region 14), and Jessica Flores (Region 15) as we explore neurodiversity and autism in the school setting. Our special guest for this hour is Blaine Campbell who is the coordinator of TEA’s Autism Supports Team housed at Region 13. Puppets increase attention, interaction, and at times provide a voice. Learn ways to include puppets into your classroom management, social skills instruction, and early childhood content. Including puppets can provide excitement, motivation, and support emotion and language development. Join me for a discussion of some ways puppets have successfully supported a miscellany of learning for Texas students.
