NAVEG TOT Training
Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) is the most common visual impairment in developed countries. CVI is sometimes difficult to diagnose because it is a visual processing issue and is usually diagnosed by visual behaviors instead of an eye examination.
Recently a CVI screening tool has been developed for infants and young children called the Neonatal Assessment Vision European Grid (NAVEG). This screening tool consists of looking at ocular visual components, motor visual components, and perceptual visual components. If a certain score is reached, it may be an indicator of CVI and the child should be seen by an eye care professional.
This session is designed to provide training on how to perform the screening. This full-day training consists of background information and theory paired with hands-on practice of the testing components.
