Improving Dyslexia Identification: Blending Systems
For decades, the identification of dyslexia was handled separately from the identification of SLD. Recent policy updates have merged these processes, requiring evaluators and Dyslexia experts to collaborate in decision-making and team efforts. Since 2021, the Dyslexia Handbook has been revised multiple times, causing confusion among teams responsible for making identification decisions. This session will utilize case studies, discussions, and a closer examination of the Handbook to foster a shared understanding, enhance collaboration, and refine the process to better serve students.
