Day 5 of 30-Hour Foundational GT Training: Depth & Complexity
Teachers will learn innovative and practical ways to design an appropriately challenging curriculum for gifted/talented students. Teachers will work to integrate Dr. Sandra Kaplan's elements of depth and complexity into their teaching. Participants will look at Depth and Complexity through the lens of the eight elements of depth: Language of the Discipline, Details, Patterns, Trends, Rules, Ethics, Unanswered Question, and Big Ideas and the three elements of complexity: Across Disciplines, Multiple Perspectives, and Over Time.

This workshop is aligned to the Texas State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) teaching standards for Gifted Education and the combined standards set forth by the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC). This workshop meets the Texas State Plan requirements for 30-Hour Initial Training.
