Hands on History at Fort Griffin!
"Ready to bring Texas history to life for your students and strengthen your TEKS-aligned lessons? Join us this summer at Fort Griffin State Historic Site for an engaging one-day teacher workshop that will show you how to use this historic site as a valuable teaching resource for school field trips. The morning session will cover the rich history of Fort Griffin, including Texas’ role in westward expansion, frontier life, and cultural interactions. After enjoying a complimentary lunch, participants will tour the historic fort and meet the State Longhorn herd, gaining first-hand insights into the site’s natural and cultural history. This workshop equips you with TEKS-aligned content and practical strategies for using Fort Griffin to engage your students with the History of Texas.
