The Science of Literacy Learning for Little Learners
As a pre-k or kindergarten teacher, YOU have one of the most important jobs in existence! You are responsible for teaching the essential language and literacy skills that will serve as the foundation for all future student learning. Recent research has largely revealed how our students' brains process and store information in memory and we, as educators, need to understand how the human brain physiologically learns in order to teach our students well.
Join Holly as she translates scientific research into practice in fun and engaging ways!
You will leave this session with a clear understanding of the importance of your role as a "non-invasive brain surgeon" who literally guides the re-wiring of students' brains! You will finally understand the WHY behind the current national push to shift your instruction and material use to be science-of-reading aligned. This workshop will be filled with hands-on activities that you will be able to take back to your classroom and use immediately.
