Teaching with Multi-Modal Texts 101, K-12
New this year: All materials will be downloadable before, during or after the workshop. So, please bring your own cool notetaking materials and any digital device you want. We will start in the Eastland room but will also be in the station. Multi-modal texts, texts in which more than one of the five systems (linguistic, visual, audio, gestural, and spatial) are used to contribute meaning, are now in the ELAR TEKS. But, what exactly are they, and how do we instruct students in these texts? Join Shawn Schlueter, Myra Rains, Donna Scherr and Sharon Anglin, for a fun, creative day. Produce a multi-modal text of your choice that is tied to the performance assessment of your discipline in TEKS Resource system! Join, have fun and think conceptually in as many modes as you can: linguistic, visual, audio, gestural, and spatial!
Special instructions
We will use the TEKS Resource System Performance Assessments as a guide for our products.
