Have you ever "felt" like Felting, but don't know where to start?
Marsha Morgan, a certified All-Level Art teacher, discovered “felting” at a Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) Conference and fell in love with the artisanal skill that forms textiles that pre-date weaving and spinning. The sensory feedback is rewarding and the flexibility as a method of rendering one-of-a-kind art and functional pieces is experiencing a rebirth in the art of fabrication. Marsha used and taught this art form to advanced students who had success in their portfolio work and in competition.

Workshop participants will “felt” a broach using an option chosen from insect diagrams as a motif. The felted creature, with embellishments, should be finished and wearable at the end of the workshop.

Each attendee will be given a handout with educational information that will allow suitable lesson plans to be completed, expanded and used in the classroom.
