Grades 2-3: Key Writing Components
Come join the new R14 Literacy Collaborative for 2nd and 3rd grade educators. Collaborating and celebrating your students’ growth with other educators is part of joining the collaborative. In this session, we will take a closer look at some key writing components to explicitly teach the writing process and writing for different purposes/forms and genres while creating a positive writing community. Come experience and experiment the ready-made writing lessons in which you will leave with your own samples to immediately use in your classroom! You will also be introduced to a new routine for your students to master mentor sentences that will take the place of learning grammar skills in isolation and is proven to demonstrate growth at the sentence level. Don’t miss this opportunity to network with others across our region!
Special instructions
If you attended the Literacy Academy over the summer, please ONLY bring the writing module. If not, you will receive the necessary materials.
