Gifted/Talented Program Services & Nature and Needs for Administrators
The session will create an awareness of gifted education in Texas and help participants develop a recognition of gifted students’ specific characteristics and emotional needs. Participants will consider district and campus compliance regarding gifted programs through an examination of the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students and examine program options for gifted students.
Special instructions
Please have access to an electronic or paper copy of your district’s G/T plan to refer to throughout the trainings. This session meets the administrator requirement for the State Plan. ( Administrators who have supervisory duties for service decisions are required to complete a minimum of six (6) hours of professional development that includes nature and needs of gifted/talented students and service options for gifted/
talented students.)
