Youth Mental Health First Aid
Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to provide teachers, and school staff, strategies to help students who are experiencing mental health needs, addictions or experiencing a crisis. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. The presenters will also provide additional resources pertinent to your area.
Special instructions
Youth Mental Health First Aid has specific certifications guidelines which require extended hours for training. A working lunch will be required and provide. This course starts at 8:30 am and ends at 5:30 pm. Participants must attend the whole day and pass a test to receive credit.
