Reading to Riches - Teaching Economics in Elementary (K-5)
Hidden inside of popular children’s books are lessons on math, social studies and personal finance. This one day training presented by the Dallas Federal Reserve will look at intersections of financial literacy in the content areas and provide you with a new way to explore and utilize literature to teach these topics.

We will begin the day with a quick look at the alignment of elementary TEKS, identify areas of overlap and complementary instruction, and then dive into our lessons.

Be ready for a fast –paced romp through your favorite literature! Bring your own favorite story and challenge the instructors to work with you to find the hidden connections.
Special instructions
Lunch will be provided.
Bring a favorite piece of children's literature and a digital device.
